He is the TIE representative and a Board Member in India who relates with India Missions Association IMA, OPEN (Overseas Professional Employees Network) and Interserve. Mr. Duthie, a computer researcher, served as a tentmaker in North India for eight years and presently lives in Bihar, India.

History of TI in India:
The concept of Tentmaking as Missions formerly began with IMA in 90s. IMA is formerly linked with TI as working partners in the fraternity of WEA MC.  Rev. Augustine Jebakumar, Prof. Vijayam, Mr. David Chandran were some of the forerunners.

TI functions within India in association with India Missions Association (IMA). As tentmaking paradigm is new in India, lot of promotion and education is being done for the past few years. Many agencies have taken it very seriously and are involved in tentmaking ministry. Promotional materials are produced to challenge the Christian community and the mission leaders of India. An open forum to train and send tentmakers is in the making.

Resources: Promotional materials are available on request and we are willing to train and send anyone who is interested to be a tentmaker within India or abroad. We can also assist overseas tentmakers to come to India. Kindly visit the alliance Web sites: http://www.imaindia.org & http://gemsbihar.org for more information.
